A Bit About Me

An Environmental Consultant and Community Development Specialist, with more than 5 years' experience as a university Lecturer, Iracelma Kiala is developing the Social an Environmental Diagnosis Management Plan for the Illegal Wildlife Trade and Human Wildlife Conflict project for the United Nations Development Programme.

At the Ground she works as a community development consultant with a Mining Cooperative to identify and address the needs and aspirations of the community. Her work includes conducting research and analysis to assess community strengths and weaknesses, developing and facilitating engagement processes to gather input and feedback from diverse groups, designing and managing programs, securing resources to support initiatives, monitoring and evaluating the impact of activities, providing training to enhance skills and knowledge, and building relationships with various actors in the community. All of these activities are intended to foster collaboration and coordination in order to create positive change in the community. As a community development consultant, she has the potential to make a significant difference in the lives of people and communities.

Iracelma’s leadership roles include National Stakeholder Engagement Consultant for the Nature Conservancy for the Development of a Miombo Woodlands Strategy in Southeast Angola where she has the responsibility to engage with a variety of stakeholders, such as community members, local governments, nonprofits, private sector, NGOs and funders, in order to develop a plan for engaging with the stakeholders, assess which partners would be most strategic to engage in order to achieve TNC´s objectives, and lead the development of a plan to bring actors and partners on board to make the strategy program effective.
